You must be a registered soundhouse.org.au user - Authenticated user or sma2web2 member - to access group actions.
You must be a member or owner of a group to view and contribute to its content.
Once you have joined a group (see "How to... Join a Group") you may access it via either the Groups panel or the My groups panel, both of which are found in the left sidebar.
When you access one of your groups a new panel, titled with the group's name, will appear in the left sidebar. This panel lists all of the group's actions that are available to you.
The group content types that can be created work in much the same way as standard content types except they are generally posted for the viewing of that specific group's members.
Another major difference in the creation forms is a section entitled Groups which should always be expanded so you can confirm which group or groups you want the content to be posted to. Note that it is also possible to use this section to make a post Public to those who are not members of the group, however, this option should be considered carefully before choosing. If, for example, you are posting resources to a user group such as SARB, the public option should NOT be selected.
If you are logged in and a member of the SARB group, you can add a resource by selecting Create Group Blog Entry from the SARB group panel, and remember to NOT select the Public option unless you want "the world" to have access to the resource you are posting and not just SARB members.
Groups also allow for a special type of content creation - Create Group WIKI Post. The major difference between a standard post and a Group WIKI Post is that a Group WIKI Post can be edited and added to by any member of the group that the Group WIKI Post is posted to.
A group's panel also allows you to perform specific actions related to the group and your membership within the group, including sending an email invitation to a friend, viewing member and manager information and profile, as well as editing your own membership status.
