WHAT: Make Music Day is a day of music open to all in the streets, businesses, parks, and wherever people feel like playing or listening. Make Music Day Australia joins other events worldwide as communities come together in celebration of music and the countless benefits that making music brings.

WHERE: Wherever you can organise or join an event

WHY: The Australian Music Association invites cities, towns and places to celebrate Make Music Day, giving community members of all ages, creeds, and musical persuasions the chance to experience the joy of making music together.

By establishing one specific day each year, June 21, to celebrate music, Make Music Day encourages both amateur and professional music making, and empowers individuals to seek out ways to celebrate music in their community.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day seeks to encourage all people to experience the pleasure of making music. Every kind of musician – from bucket drummers to opera singers – pours onto streets, parks, plazas, porches, rooftops, gardens and other public spaces to share their music with friends, neighbors and strangers.

Choralfest 2019 – Call for Choirs

We are pleased to announce that the Call for Choirs is open! apply here! Closing date for applications 30 April 2018.

The Choralfest® 2019 committee invites choirs to apply to perform in various venues around Fremantle Western Australia. Performance opportunities will include Choralfest® daily lunchtime concerts, pop up concerts and evening concerts as well as a range of performance opportunities around Fremantle and possibly in Perth and regional areas. Choirs may include any type of choral ensemble performing at a high level in any style. Opportunities are being developed for choirs to work with guest conductors in workshops/honour choirs (fees may apply).
