Ian Harvey has a 25-year history in the Australian music industry and music education. He is Director of music consultancy Morton Group, was Executive Officer Australian Music Association, and Chief Operating Officer of music college Collarts. Ian was Treasurer of Music Australia where he created the successful music advocacy program Music Count Us In.

Ian was Executive Officer of the Australian Music Association and the Australian Music Retailers Associaionfrom 2000- 2011, a member of the National Review of School Music Education. Ian, with Co-Director Ken Owen, established Musical Futures Australia in 2010 following the successful pilot program run in Victorian and Queensland schools a year earlier.

He is currently CEO of the International Society for Music Education and is a passionate advocate for music education.
